School Within a College (SWAC) Program at St. Clair College

St. Clair College, in partnership with the Greater Essex District School Board, Windsor Essex Catholic School Board, Lambton Kent District School Board, and St. Clair Catholic School Board, is excited to offer the School Within a College (SWAC) program. This initiative provides students with a unique opportunity to blend their high school education with college-level courses, creating a pathway to success for both youth and adult learners.

What is SWAC?

The SWAC program is designed for students in Grade 12 or those who have completed 12+ years of schooling. It allows students to earn secondary school credits while also enrolling in college-delivered Dual Credits at the St. Clair College campus. This program is particularly beneficial for students who are motivated to graduate and are looking for a supportive and engaging environment to complete their education.

Who Should Consider SWAC?

The SWAC program is ideal for students who:

- Have 8-10 credits or fewer remaining to graduate.

- Are in their final year or fifth year of high school.

- Are self-motivated, able to work independently, and can prioritize their education.

- Are interested in pursuing a college or apprenticeship pathway or wish to experience the college atmosphere.

- Are struggling to complete their final high school credits and would benefit from a change in environment.

- Have left high school early or are at risk of doing so and are seeking to complete their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

Benefits of SWAC

Participating in the SWAC program comes with numerous advantages:

  • Students can earn 2 Dual Credit College Courses per semester at no cost.
  • Students have access to all college activities and facilities
  • FREE Transportation (bus tickets/parking passes)
  • FREE tuition, supplies, textbooks, and excursions.
  • ACCESS to college services, library, computer labs and MORE!
  • Flexible schedule
